FAQ

  • Is Open Arms Childbirth Education a Certified Educator?
    • Yes. Natalie Amparan is a Certified BirthWorks International Birthworks Educator.
  • Why is it better to take an independent CBE class verses a hospital offered class?
    • An independent childbirth education will only have your best interest at heart and help you get the more evidence based birth information out there. It is possible for a hospital class to be unbiased, but most times, the classes offered are there to help the mothers be good patients, and to know what is going to be allowed and what the procedures are. While this may be good information to have, it is not the way to build a birth that has your true desires in mind.
  • Why do I need to attend classes, can’t I just read books?
    •  While there are a lot of great books to read about pregnancy and childbirth, many that I would recommend, it is important to get specific guidance and recommendations for your pregnancy. Each class is tailored to fit the needs of the group of students attending. There is opportunity to have your specific questions answered. It is also very encouraging for both mom and dad to be to be around other couples due around the same time. Plus, it is much more fun than reading a book.
  • How long is each class?
    • Each class in the 6 weeks series is broken down into two 1 hour sessions with a 15 minutes break in between.
  • How much is the course?
    • The 6 week course is $200. Hardship arrangements can be made in special circumstances.
  • When should I take the course?
    • Anytime during your pregnancy is great even if you only have 6 weeks till your due date, it is not to late to start
  • Where are the courses held?
    • Courses are help in my home in Leander or at Central Texas Birth Center in Georgetown (see schedule)
  • Do I have to bring my partner?
    • It is encouraged, but you can come alone, or bring a friend to support you.
